In 2008 the #11z piloted by Zachary finished the year with his best feature finish in 2nd place.  Zachary competed in 27 races picking up 2 heat wins, 4 top 5 feature finishes and 15 top 10 finishes.  The #24 piloted by Lance finished the year with 1 feature win at Shippensburg Speedway in April.  Lance was in contention for a couple more, only to have mechanical failures or just plain bad luck.  Lance competed in 27 races also, picking up 3 heat wins, 5 top 5 feature finishes and 9 top 10 feature finishes.

The Newlin Team ran a couple of shows from the Pa. 600 Speedweek, ran the  Super 600 Showdown and the Blaise Alexander Memorial.

Pa. 600 Speedweek

at Lincoln Speedway…with 95 cars signed in Zach and Lance both ran the same heat with Zach finishing 6th and Lance finishing 7th.  Lance ran the D main finishing 12th. Zach ran the C main finishing 10th. Not good enough to move on.

At Path Valley Speedway

With 91 cars signed in Zach and Lance both finished 6th in their heats.  Both running the C main, Lance was involved in first lap crash and Zach up to and battling for 3rd was tagged into wall, coming back to finish 5th.  Needed to finish 2nd to go on.

Did not run the rest of Speedweek due to bad luck and broken parts.  Both tied for 71st in points out of a total of 162 cars.

Super 600 Showdown

At Lanco Speedway…with 94 cars signed in Lance finished 8th in his heat and Zach finished 6th in his heat.  After heats were finished Zach was 52nd in points and Lance was 72nd in points.  Both running the last chance qualifier Zach finished 3rd and Lance was 4th.  The qualifier race Zach finished 9th and Lance finished 12th.  There was 60 cars left at this point.  Lance ran D main he was running 8th when he was crashed out on a restart.  Zach ran C main and finished 12th  missing transfer by 2 positions. Zach finished 48th and Lance finished 60th in total points. Got to race a lot this day.  Interesting experience.

Started off 2008 season on a strong note. Ended with broken parts and a broken motor.  in 2009 the team will run weekly at Greenwood Valley Action Track on Saturday nights and will race some Friday nights when not helping out on a 358 or 410 sprint car team at Williams Grove.

In the 2009 seasoned we raced at 5 different tracks, competed in the 600 Pro Series, ran one wineglass show and lost 8 races to rain. The #11z piloted by Zachary competed in 18 races picking up 1 feature win at Greenwood Valley Action Tracks in May. Zach picked up 1 heat win, 11 top 5 finishes, 5 top 5 feature finishes and 10 top 10 feature finishes. Ran a wineglass race at Path Valley and picked up a 6th place finish, 10th in points at GVAT and 4th in points in the Pro Series.

The #24 piloted by Lance competed in 13 races picking up his best feature finish in 7th place. Lance picked up 6 top 5 heat finishes and 4 top 10 feature finishes. Lance also ran the wineglass show at Path Valley and picked up a 10th place finish. With nothing but bad luck on his side this year, Lance kept his chin up and finished 21st in points at GVAT and 7th in points in the Pro Series.

Best feature runs:

*  Lance at GVAT started 25th, finished 14th.

*  Zachary at Shippensburg started 19th, finished 9th.
